The Zakat Foundation Belgium (hereinafter “we” or “the Foundation”), registered office Rue Emile Feron 153, 1060 Saint-Gilles, Brussels, Belgium, explains here which cookies and similar technologies are used on its website www.zakat.be (the “Site”). This policy complies with the ePrivacy Directive, the Belgian Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications and the GDPR (EU 2016/679).
Cookies are small files placed on your device by the website you visit. Local storage (“localStorage”) is a similar technology that keeps information in your browser.
The Site only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work or for the service you request. It uses no analytics, advertising or social media cookies. As these cookies are exempt from consent, no consent banner is shown.
The only optional content is the YouTube video player: it is disabled by default and only loads with your consent. You can change this choice at any time via “Manage cookies” at the bottom of every page.

The Site’s fonts, images and scripts are served from our own servers: no third-party service is contacted when pages load.
2. Managing your choices
Preferences: allow or refuse external content in the , also available via “Manage cookies” at the bottom of every page. Your choice is kept for 13 months.
Browser: you can view, block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from submitting forms or making a donation.
Calculator: the draft is deleted automatically after 30 days, or when you clear the site data in your browser.
Videos: until you allow them, no YouTube content is loaded; a message offers to play the video or to watch it directly on YouTube. If you withdraw your consent, the data already set by YouTube stays in your browser until you delete it.
Should we ever add cookies that require consent (for example for analytics), a consent tool would be put in place beforehand and this policy would be updated.
3. Third-party cookies
Stripe: payment security cookies on the donation pages. See Stripe’s cookie policy.
YouTube: only if you allow videos. See Google’s cookie policy.
Our processors are bound by a GDPR-compliant data processing agreement.
4. Security and retention
The Site is served over HTTPS only; our cookies expire automatically at the end of the periods stated above. We do not sell any data.
